Fire ban at Cypress Hills Provincial Park

Due to extreme fire hazard, a fire ban is in place at Cypress Hills Provincial Park until further notice.

Several trails throughout the park are also closed due to public safety concerns. A map of the impacted trails is available at www.cypresshills.com under Important Updates. If dry weather continues, further road and group camping area closures may occur.

Fire bans prohibit the use of all wood, briquette and propane/natural gas fires, including those contained in designated fire facilities and portable fire pits. Gas and propane stoves and barbecues, when approved for cooking, are allowed.

Cypress Hills Provincial Park is located approximately 30 minutes southeast of Medicine Hat. Information about the fire ban is posted on site and at www.albertaparks.ca. Albertans are advised to check the status of fire bans before travelling this summer at www.albertafirebans.ca.
